The Norwegian Public Road Administration selected Norphonic Heavy Duty VoIP Emergency Roadside Telephones for the E18 road between Kristiansand and Grimstad. The project required a reliable and easy-to-maintain communication system capable of operating in challenging conditions, including dust, vibration, extreme temperatures and condensation.

Norphonic’s solution offered remote configuration, automatic system health checks, fault detection and firmware updates. By using a shared voice and data infrastructure, the project also benefited from simpler maintenance, reduced installation time and lower call costs compared with traditional analogue systems.
